The way students access information and the type of information they access has changed considerably with advances in technology. Our library has been extensively modified to reflect these changes, and is an information resource centre where all sorts of information can be accessed by the people who utilise it.
Our Information Resource Centre – the Davidson Memorial Library, named for the school’s first librarian Brenda Davidson – provides our young men with the ability to do this by providing a central hub for information in written and electronic form.
The centre includes:
Apple Mac design and Film and Television Computer Lab
Teaching centre and meeting room
Deans’ offices and interview room
Google Chromebook Carts
Over the years the Library has become more than just a place for quiet study and research into the information and cultural hub of the school.
Gisborne Boys' High School has an active, successful chess club and the Library is the venue for regular Interschool and community chess tournaments.
20 Apple Mac minis with 24" screens, installed in 2015 provide the senior Art Design and Film and Television students with the very latest in computer hardware and software.
