International students achieve well throughout their time at the school. A director of international students and a specialist teacher of English Language Learning (ELL) have high expectations for their achievements. They work together to monitor students' needs and use a range of strategies to support their learning.

The ELL classroom provides a base for students to learn English and access support. Staff liaise well with deans, management and the home-stay supervisor to share information and communicate useful student information.

School staff and management work collaboratively to provide a good level of pastoral care. They build positive and productive relationships with students. Students integrate well into school life and participate in a range of sporting and cultural events.

Private fee paying and exchange students have come from the following countries: Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Holland, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Papua New Guinea, South Korea, Macau, Norway, Slovakia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Vanuatu and Vietnam.

The foundation stones of our Teaching and Learning programmes for young men are our School Values. RESPECT, for oneself and every individual. HONESTY, at all times.PERSEVERANCE, in the challenges that we step forward to accept together. LOYALTY, to our School, Whanau, and Community. COURAGE, to continue in our quest for excellence. While traditional, these values will always have a place in the future world of any young man.

These values will always have a place in the future world of a young man. Our School motto: Virtus Repulsae Nescia; Courage Knows No Defeat; Toa Hinga Kore, Toa Mate Kore; and our School Values will be continually placed in front of him. He will always be challenged to achieve these school goals and “live” our school motto.
