There are many scholarships available for tertiary study. We do get some come through the school but the best idea is for you to go online to each University and also check on Breakout. This database is updated weekly with new scholarships so keep checking! A bit of time invested now could save you thousands on your student loan.
Remember we have the national database BREAKOUT here at GBHS. Breakout offers information on over 3000 education based scholarships. Students can access BREAKOUT online at school. There are also scholarships on BREAKOUT for adults going back to study, or changing direction; for post grad study, etc. REMEMBER that some scholarships for first year Uni study are due 31st August! Believe me, the time will fly by, so DON’T leave it till the last minute!

KEYSTONE - NZ PROPERTY EDUCATION TRUST
Student considering studying at a tertiary institution for a degree DIRECTLY associated with the property industry and who, without financial assistance, may be unable to do so, can apply for this scholarship.
Related to degrees in: Property Management, Engineering, Valuation, Real Estate, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Construction and Landscape Architecture. $5000 each year. Due August 2010
MAORI EDUCATION TRUST have a multitude of scholarships available across the board for students at school and students continuing on with study. Check out details on www.maorieducation.org.nz
NGARIUMU VC AND 28TH MAORI BATTALION MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS
Three Undergraduate Awards valued at $10,000 each per year. Financial support is provided for up to five years depending on the term of study. Due August 2010.

Selection criteria
All applicants must be:
- New Zealand M?ori;
- studying at a registered New Zealand tertiary institution or at an overseas tertiary institution that meets its own country's accreditation requirements. This is not necessary for Manakura scholarship applicants only;
- able to show characteristics of the ideal applicant as detailed in the application form;
- able to describe their contribution to wh?nau, hap? or iwi following successful completion of their study; and
- agree to present milestone reports to the Ng?rimu VC and 28th M?ori Battalion Board.
