The Gisborne Boys’ High School Choir has developed into an inspiring group of young men over the past three years thanks to Andrew Ulugia who is the current choir master.
Over Friday 23 and Saturday 24 September 2011, the Gisborne Boys’ High School Choir performed three concerts at the Lawson Field Theatre. This concluded a week of performances in which the boys sang at numerous schools around the district, at St Andrews Church and at Albert Park Rest Home. Thirty boys sang their way into the hearts of all that heard them. They are a credit to themselves, their whanau and this community. Special thanks goes to Hemi Porou, Nanny Gilly and Andrew Ulugia who provide the creative love and support that goes with an event such as this. The boys will perform at two further events
- a Pacific Island Community fundraiser
- a Canteen fundraiser
They will also perform at the Senior and Junior Prize Giving Ceremonies.
These young men are true role models for all young people and they create a positive ethos for others to aspire to.
